JAMMU: An additional 145 dengue cases were recorded on Thursday from various locations in Jammu and Kashmir, bringing the year’s total to 3152. According to a health official, 78 instances were recorded today from the Jammu district alone, along with 33 cases from Udhampur, 15 cases from Kathua, 7 cases from Samba, 5 cases from Rajouri, 3 cases from Poonch, one case from each of the districts of Reasi, Doda, and Kishtwar, and one case from outside the UT. 126 adults and 19 kids are among the individuals who tested positive, he continued. According to him, out of the total 2168 cases reported thus far, the majority come from the Jammu district, followed by the Udhampur district (322 cases), Kathua (238 cases), and Samba (212 cases apiece).“There were 64 cases in Rajouri, 29 in Ramban, 27 in Reasi, 21 each in Poonch and Doda, 4 in Kishtwar, 15 in Kashmir and 27 from other parts of the country,” added the official. The official added that a total of 1047 dengue patients had been hospitalised to the hospitals as of now, and that 928 of them had been released while 89 were still receiving treatment. The official stated that “the number of dengue cases is increasing every day” and recommended the public to prevent stagnant water from forming in and around their homes because this is where the mosquitoes that transmit dengue thrive.
