JAMMU, Aug 14: Two Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), two Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and two Superintendents of Police (SPs) are among 38 personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police who have been awarded the Medal for Gallantry (GM) on the occasion of Independence Day 2026.
The senior officers figuring in the list include DIGs Shiv Kumar Sharma and Pande Rajiv Omprakash, SSPs Shobhit D. Saksena and Mushtaq Ahmad, and SPs Nasir Ahmad and Divya D.
The other awardees include Deputy Superintendents of Police Sarfaraz Bashir, Mohd Usman, Khurshid Ahmed Wani, Dheerai Kumar, Shakir Hassan and Vikram Nag; Inspectors Javid Iqbal Jan, Kalu Din and Abdul Rashid; Sub-Inspector Ashak Hussain; Assistant Sub-Inspectors Mohinder Singh and Zahoor Ahmad; Head Constables Rayeesh Ahmad Reshi, Manzoor Ahmad, Mudaisir Ahmad, Sheeraz Ahmad, Surinder Paul and Mushtaq Ahmad; SgCTs Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Reshi, Adit Kumar Nad, Shabir Ahmad Malik, Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, Zahoor Ahmad, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and Tariq Ahmad; and Constables Waseem Mohi-Ud-Din Lone, Tanveer Hussain Lone, Mudassir Ahmad Shah, Ab. Rashid Mir and Mohamad Shafi Banday.
