NEW DELHI: According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India saw a single-day increase of 628 new COVID-19 cases, while the number of active cases increased to 4,054. The data updated at 8 am showed that the total number of fatalities was 5,33,334 (5.33 lakh), with one new death reported from Kerala in the previous 24 hours. The current count of Covid cases in the nation stands at 4,50,09,248 (4.50 crore). According to the health ministry website, the number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 4,44,71,860 (4.44 crore), and the national recovery rate is 98.81 percent. The current rate of case fatalities is 1.19 percent. On the ministry website, it states that 220.67 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been given.
