NEW DELHI, Oct 29: The incident happened on a Sunday at a Jehovah’s Witness prayer service at a convention centre in Kalamassery, Kochi. At least one person died and around 20 others were injured. It is reported that the dead was a lady. According to the local police, it is unknown what caused the explosion or if there were several explosions.According to reports, the incident happened at a convention centre connected to a Christian organisation. Around nine in the morning, authorities got a distress call asking for police support. Disturbing images of the incident that aired on television showed a massive response from police and fire rescue professionals, who worked tirelessly to get people out of the area. Horrifying photos from inside the convention centre showed numerous fires that were raging and individuals who were terrified and in a panic. All physicians and nurses who are on leave have been instructed to report to work right away by Kalamassery Medical College. The fact that so many people congregated outside the convention centre after the explosion underscored how serious the situation was.
