NEW DELHI, Aug 12: Reiterating the Narendra Modi Government’s resolve of safeguarding the interests of people of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation , Amit Shah today said that Centre would continue to strengthen security framework in J&K and dismantle entire support structure of terrorism including their overground activists.
The Union Minister gave this assurance to a high level delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leaders from J&K which called on him at Union Capital on Wednesday. Minister of Health, J P Nadda was also present in the meeting.
“Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, remains fully committed to safeguarding the interests of the people of Jammu & Kashmir,’’ said Shah.
Maintaining that Modi Government is committed to zero tolerance on terrorism, Shah also reiterated that the Centre will continue to strengthen the security framework, accelerate development, expand welfare initiatives and ensure that good governance reaches every section of society.
He assured the delegation that every genuine concern raised by the BJP leaders would receive due attention and appropriate action to mitigate the sufferings of the common masses in the UT.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders showed their total dismay over the dismal functioning of the National Conference (NC) Government in J&K during a joint meeting with Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah and Union Minister of Health, J P Nadda.
The party delegation in unequivocal terms informed Shah that sufferings of common man have increased manifold since the NC led Government took over in the UT. The delegation alleged that there is growing public dissatisfaction and resentment over the National Conference (NC) Government’s failure to address the everyday concerns of the people.
The BJP delegation including national general secretary, Rajya Sabha MP and J&K BJP Prabhari Tarun Chugh, BJP J&K president and Rajya Sabha MP, Sat Sharma (CA), Leader of Opposition in the J&K Assembly, Sunil Sharma, and Lok Sabha MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma who called on Shah and J P Nadda conveyed their concern over malfunctioning of the NC Government in the UT.
They also apprised them of the prevailing governance, political and security situation in Jammu & Kashmir.
The party delegation alleged that despite receiving a popular mandate the NC Government has failed to provide responsive and accountable governance, while remaining preoccupied with political blamegames and diversionary narratives. The delegation, while highlighting the key public concerns said the issues relating to employment, civic amenities, infrastructure development, public welfare and administrative efficiency continue to remain neglected, creating widespread frustration among the people.
The BJP leaders urged that the development momentum created under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi should not be allowed to slow down because of the inefficiency and lack of governance displayed by the present dispensation in Jammu & Kashmir.
The delegation also reviewed the prevailing security situation and observed that the firm policies of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and the decisive leadership of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah have significantly weakened the ecosystem of terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir. They emphasized that the improved security environment has opened new avenues for investment, tourism, infrastructure expansion and economic growth across the Union Territory, bringing renewed confidence among the people from every section of society.
The BJP leaders also acknowledged the smooth, peaceful and successful conduct of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. They appreciated the coordinated efforts of the security forces, civil administration and all stakeholders in ensuring the safe completion of the holy pilgrimage, describing it as another example of the vastly improved security and administrative preparedness achieved under the Modi Government’s leadership.
