Azad promises ‘Khushaal J&K’ if voted to power

PULWAMA: Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Democratic Progressive Azad Party’s (DPAP) chairman, declared on Sunday that if elected, his party would create “Khuhaal Jammu and Kashmir.” He was speaking at a public rally here, according to a press statement. Azad said that if DPAP is elected to office, Pulwama will grow into a significant economic hub given the enormous potential in the horticulture and agricultural industries. Despite the beginning of the fruit harvesting season, a sizable public rally was staged, according to the press release. According to a news release, Azad promised the populace that world-class fruit mandis with full amenities will be built to support Pulwama’s horticultural industry.According to the DPAP chairman, “the fruit mandis will have the most up-to-date technology, swift transport systems to ferry apple crop to mandis across the country, loan facilities, and extensive support to boost fruit production.” He bemoaned the “new Kashmir” where people are unhappy due to record unemployment of both boys and girls, poor infrastructure, and economic stagnation which has led to poverty in rural Jammu and Kashmir. He eulogised his belief in “old Kashmir” which saw all around development 15 years ago when he was Chief Minister. “In my vision of Hushaal Jammu Kashmir, the DPAP model of governance includes equal employment for educated girls and boys, which would also ensure jobs, roads, electricity, mobile connectivity, and financial stability.”By harnessing the entire potential of the region, both skilled and unskilled workers will have chances, stated Azad to thunderous acclaim from the audience. Azad emphasised that the DPAP’s manifesto calls for working double and triple shifts to upgrade the inadequate infrastructure, adding that the area will be promoted for tourists during fruit seasons. “Tourism-related infrastructure will be created, and jobs for young people from the same areas will be provided, so that tourist destinations like Shadimarg, Gulshanmarg, and other lovely meadows can be developed on par with Gulmarg. The first improvements will be made to hospitals and schools, he predicted. Azad lamented the distribution and usage of pesticides that were adulterated, which had a terrible effect on fruit growers. He advised people to be watchful and likened the situation to Himachal Pradesh, where the government has done a wonderful job of reducing the use of adulterated pesticides or fungicides. Abdul Qayoom Dar organised the public gathering. Vice-Chairman GM Saroori, Treasurer Taj Mohiudin, Zonal President Gulzar Wani, Chief Spokesperson Salman Nizami, and Provincial General Secretary Shafiq Shabnam were among the DPAP officials present at the event.
