REASI: The Indian Army launched relief and evacuation operations in Reasi district after heavy rainfall, landslides near Saral HF, and the rising water level of the Arnas River affected several families living in low-lying areas.
Responding swiftly to the developing situation, Army personnel deployed at Dharmari assisted residents in moving to safer locations and established temporary shelters for the affected families.
The troops also provided hot meals, essential supplies and immediate humanitarian assistance to those displaced by the adverse weather conditions.
According to officials, the timely intervention ensured the safety and well-being of vulnerable residents, including children, women and the elderly, amid the continuing rainfall and rising water levels.
The Army maintained close coordination with the local administration while continuously monitoring the river’s water level and landslide-prone areas to respond to any further emergencies.
A Quick Reaction Team (QRT) has been kept on standby to deal with any contingency. The Indian Army reaffirmed its commitment to standing with the people of Reasi and providing timely assistance during natural disasters and emergencies.
