JAMMU, Jul 22:he official vehicle of Member of Parliament (MP) Mian Altaf Ahmad was caught in a landslide on the Jammu-Poonch highway on Wednesday while he was on his way to visit flood-affected areas.
Officials said the landslide struck the highway, leaving the MP’s vehicle stranded. Mian Altaf, however, safely got out of the vehicle without sustaining any injuries.
Undeterred by the incident, the MP continued his journey on foot to reach the affected area and assess the situation on the ground.
Mian Altaf was travelling to meet residents affected by the recent heavy rains and flash floods that have caused widespread damage in parts of the region.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities are monitoring the highway, where intermittent landslides have been reported following continuous rainfall.
