Terrorist Associate Arrested In Sopore

SRINAGAR, Feb 28:In the Sopore subdistrict of Jammu and Kashmir, security personnel detained a terrorist associate, according to police on Wednesday. The terrorist member of Lashkar-e-Taiba was apprehended in the nearby Baramulla area the day before to the current arrest. According to the police, "Sopore Police, in conjunction with the Army's 22 Rashtriya Rifles and 179 battalion CRPF, apprehended terrorist associate Arif Hussain Bhat of Mundji Bomai Sopore upon receiving information. Bhat was in constant contact with terrorist handlers across the border."According to authorities, "a live hand grenade was recovered based on the subject's disclosure during questioning, wherein he admitted his terrorist links." As a result, Police Station Bomai opened a case under pertinent UA (P)A sections, and an investigation has been started. By averting a potentially serious terrorist attack in Sopore, the police said that this operation further demonstrated the ongoing efforts of the Sopore Police against anti-national groups. NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Wednesday that a massive consignment of 3,132 kg of cocaine had been captured in a cooperative operation by the Narcotics Control Bureau, the Navy, and the Gujarat Police. The historic achievement, according to Shah, is evidence of the Modi administration's steadfast dedication to ridding the country of drugs. The home minister claimed in a post on X that the authorities have succeeded in making the largest-ever seizure of narcotics abroad in the country, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of a drug-free Bharat.A massive shipment of 3132 kg of cocaine was found during a cooperative operation by the Gujarat Police, the NCB, and the Navy. J&K Police attaches illegal properties worth Rs 60 lakh of notorious drug peddlers in Baramulla

BARAMULLA: Police in Baramulla continued their campaign against drug dealers by attaching properties (a single-story residential home and a double-story shopping centre with two distinct restrooms, valued at approximately Rs. 60.00 lacs) that belonged to two well-known drug dealers, Mohd Ayoob Shah and Ghulam Mohammad Shah @ Gulshah, both sons of Abdul Khaliq who lived in Ladoora Rafiabad, District Baramulla. The case FIR No. 18/2024 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Baramulla is connected to the action, which was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985. During the police investigation and inquiry, the property was determined to have been unlawfully acquired. Primarily, the property was obtained from drug dealers' illegal trafficking in narcotics and psychotropic chemicals. The police's determination to fight the drug problem is reaffirmed by this operation.
