JAMMU, Jul 14: officials said that 3 people including two labourers were killed when a vehicle they were travelling skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in Kishtwar district on Friday.According to official sources, the driver of the Camper vehicle (JK17-6327), which was transporting three passengers, lost control of the vehicle as it was approaching the Kiru Hydro-electric project, which was still under construction, and the vehicle rolled into a gorge. They said that all three of the car’s occupants passed away instantly. The deceased have been identified as Badal Kumar (19), the driver and son of Ranjeet Singh of Bida Lower Bidda, Ashfaq Hussain (25) and Chanjgu Ram (38) of Chicgnana Nagseni, all of whom were inhabitants of Kistwara. Local rumours said that the car belonged to a building company, although formal confirmation was still pending.
SHO Kishtwar Abid Bukhari confirmed that three persons died in the accident and that a case has been filed and that investigations have begun.
