Govt Bans Entry Of Heavy Goods Vehicles In Delhi As Yamuna Swells

New Delhi, Jul 13: Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said on Thursday, that the Delhi government has banned the entry of heavy goods vehicles, barring those carrying essentials, in the city from four borders including Singhu as a precautionary measure in view of the rising Yamuna levels. He tweeted a copy of the directive that the Transport Department had issued. Because of the abnormally rising water level of the Yamuna River, entry of heavy goods vehicles has been prohibited at the borders of Singhu, Badarpur, Loni, and Chilla. Gahlot, however, said that rather than stopping at the ISBT Kashmeri Gate, interstate buses from Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand will stop at the Singhu border.
