JAMMU: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced on Sunday that the new Vande Bharat express train, which will run from Katra to Delhi starting on December 30, will make stops at the railway stations in Udhampur and Kathua. In addition to being a huge relief, the Union Minister stated that the train will make stops in Udhampur and Kathua, which will facilitate business, travel, and daily living. JAMMU, Dec 23: The family members of the three civilians who were discovered dead close to the scene of an anti-terrorist operation in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir were given jobs and compensation by the state government on Saturday. SRINAGAR: According to officials on Saturday, Kashmir experienced a brief reprieve from the cold wave conditions, with temperatures above freezing throughout the Valley, with the exception of Gulmarg, during the night. According to a meteorological department official, Srinagar's minimum temperature was 1.2°C, which was higher than the city's typical temperature of 2.0°C for this time of year and minus 3.3°C the night before. According to him, Qazigund recorded a minimum of 1.4°C as opposed to minus 3.3°C the night before. According to the MeT official, the minimum temperature was 3.4°C higher than usual for Kashmir's gateway town. JAMMU: As security forces continued their massive search operation to find terrorists responsible for the recent ambush on two Army vehicles that left five soldiers dead, mobile Internet services were suspended in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch and Rajouri districts early on Saturday, officials said. The mysterious deaths of three people who were allegedly picked up by the Army for questioning and the widespread anger that resulted from the release of videos allegedly depicting the suspects being tortured led to the suspension of mobile Internet services in the twin border districts.Official sources said that mobile Internet services were suspended in the districts of Poonch and Rajouri as a preventive measure to check rumor-mongering and stop miscreants from creating any law and order issues, even though both Army and civil authorities are mum about the actual situation. The sources stated that in order to maintain peace, more police and paramilitary personnel were stationed in sensitive areas of the districts and that senior Army, police, and civil officers were keeping an eye on the situation. At Dhatyar Morh, between Dhera Ki Gali and Bufliaz, under the control of Surankote police station in Poonch, three to four heavily armed terrorists targeted an army gipsy and a truck late on Thursday afternoon, killing five soldiers and wounding two more.Following the assault, it was reported that the terrorists stole some of the soldiers' weapons and disfigured the bodies of at least two soldiers. Following the attack, a massive search and rescue operation was initiated in the heavily forested areas, including Thanamandi in Rajouri. However, according to the officials, there has been no new communication with the terrorists who are escaping. Three people who were being questioned by the Army in relation to the attack on Thursday passed away inexplicably on Friday. According to the sources, while the inquiry into their deaths is ongoing, their bodies have been turned over to their relatives for final ceremonies. Safeer Hussain (43), Mohd Showket (27) and Shabir Ahmad (32) of Topa Peer village in Bufliaz were identified as the deceased; however, the reason for their demise was not immediately known. MUMBAI: According to an official on Friday, the Mumbai police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has taken three people into custody, including a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, and seized charas valued at Rs 1.04 crore. According to him, the accused were a part of an interstate drug trafficking organisation. In a special operation, the ANC's Bandra unit detained two people in the Byculla area and took 1.8 kg of premium Kashmiri charas, according to a crime branch official. After another man was arrested as a result of their questioning, 800 grammes more of Kashmiri charas were taken from his possession.According to the official, the drug was brought to Mumbai by the accused, a Kashmiri national, who hid it in walnut bags. Two cases have been filed against another accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. According to the official, he had previously had up to 55 kg of charas taken from him in the Worli area. He said that during another operation, the ANC's Azad Maidan unit had arrested three people and seized 120 grammes of mephedrone valued at Rs 24 lakh. They had also recovered Rs 22 lakh in cash. JAMMU: Near the scene of a terrorist ambush on two Army vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district that left five soldiers dead and two injured the day before, three men were discovered dead under suspicious circumstances on Friday, according to officials.
