KUPWARA: According to an official statement released by the police on Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir police had used the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) to seize the property of a notorious drug dealer in Handwara, in the Kupwara district. The Handwara police said that over the course of their investigation and inquiry, they discovered that the land had been obtained illegally. The authorities claimed that the owner of the building, a small shopping complex with four stores, was Farooq Ahmad Dar, a well-known narcotics dealer. Primarily, the owner obtained the property from the illegal trafficking of psychotropic and narcotic drugs.The police claimed that the aforementioned drug dealer is connected to several cases at the Handwara police station. "This operation confirms Handwara Police's dedication to fighting the drug problem. J&K highway closed for traffic over, 200 vehicles stranded in Ramban

Jammu, Feb 1: Over 200 cars were left stranded on Thursday when a landslip in the Ramban area forced the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway. There were also other spots on the route where there was new snowfall. According to officials, the landslip occurred in the district's Sherbibi sector, which also saw a lot of rain. Traffic police stated on X that "the road near Sherbibi on Jammu-Srinagar highway is damaged and restoration work is about to start." The 270-kilometer highway, which is the only all-weather route connecting Kashmir with the rest of the nation, has over 200 vehicles trapped at various locations.They stated that although efforts are on to reopen the roadway for traffic, the Ramban-Banihal sector's continuous rains are proving to be a challenge. Travellers were warned by the traffic police to stay off the route until the weather cleared and the road was safe to travel on. New Delhi, Feb 1: Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Interim Budget 2024–25 profusely on Thursday, stating that it lays out a plan for realising Prime Minister Modi's goal of a developed India by 2047. Shah expressed his appreciation to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in a post on X. The Union Budget lays out the steps needed to realise Prime Minister Modi's goal of having a developed India by 2047. The budget address highlights the steps the Modi administration has taken in the past ten years to position India as the world's leading economy in all fields during the Amrit Kaal. "The magnificent edifice of a Viksit Bharat is being built on the very foundation of these feats," he declared. He went on, "My sincere gratitude to FM Nirmala Sitharaman for the insightful budget speech and to Modi Ji for leading the country through this journey of excellence." In the meantime, today in Parliament, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled the interim budget. She did, however, say that the entire budget will be presented in July. "Our Government will present a detailed roadmap for our pursuit of Viksit Bharat in the full budget in July," the statement read. Nirmala Sitharaman made a historic announcement during the Interim Budget 2024–25 presentation, outlining the government's bold proposal to establish a corpus of Rupees One Lakh Crore to encourage private investment in emerging technologies.The Finance Minister said that this corpus will usher in a "golden era for our tech-savvy youth."A fifty-year interest-free loan will be used to construct the corpus, giving growing technological industries a significant financial boost to support research and innovation. Sitharaman stressed that the private sector will be greatly encouraged to dramatically upscale their efforts in research and innovation throughout various domains by long-term financing or refinancing with prolonged tenors and low or no interest rates.
