Retail Inflation Eases To 3-Month Low Of 5.1 Pc In Jan

New Delhi, Feb 12: Official data issued on Monday showed that retail inflation declined to a three-month low of 5.1% in January, primarily due to decreasing food prices. According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the rate of inflation was 5.69 percent in December 2023 and 6.52% in January 2024. Inflation peaked in August 2023 at 6.83 percent. The National Statistical Office (NSO) published data showing that retail inflation in the food basket decreased to 8.3% in January 2024 from 9.3% in the previous month.The government has given the Reserve Bank of India the mandate to guarantee that retail inflation stays at 4% with a margin of 2% on each side. NEW DELHI: As he distributed over a lakh appointment letters on Monday as part of the Rozgar Mela programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his government had made the recruitment process transparent and completed it within a set timeframe to ensure that every youth had an equal opportunity to showcase their capabilities. According to PM Modi, his administration has shortened the period of time between the application day and the final distribution of the employment letter. "In previous administrations, it used to take a long time to receive an appointment letter after submitting an application.Bribery using the interim periods was commonplace. The employment application procedure is now transparent thanks to the efforts of our administration, and we strive to finish it on time. Every young person now has an equal chance to show off their abilities thanks to this, PM Modi stated. The 'Rozgar Mela' was introduced by Prime Minister Modi on October 22, 2022, signalling the start of the drive to create 10 lakh government jobs. "The hiring procedure is now open to the public thanks to our government. We strive to complete the hiring process in a predetermined amount of time so that each candidate has an equal chance to demonstrate his skills," he stated. He claimed that since 2014, his government has worked to integrate young people and enable them to play a role in the development of the country."Every government official plays a crucial role in the Viksit Bharat path. We shall get new vitality from the one lakh new recruits who joined us today. Your efforts will be focused on nation-building regardless of the department you join," he stated. The Prime Minister also dedicated Phase I of the Integrated Complex "Karmayogi Bhavan" in New Delhi on Monday. Former J&K MLC Shahnaz Ganai Joins BJP

NEW DELHI, Feb 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India's Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services, which connect traditional relationships with contemporary digital technology, were launched in Mauritius and Sri Lanka on Monday. Along with Prime Minister Modi, President Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka, and his Mauritian counterpart Pravind Jugnauth attended the virtual event launching India's RuPay card services in Mauritius. In his speech, Modi expressed his optimism that the two countries will benefit from the new fintech services and stated that the UPI is taking on "new responsibilities of uniting partners with India.""We are connecting our historical connections with contemporary digital technology today, making it a unique day for the three friendly nations of the Indian Ocean Region," he remarked. "I think the UPI system will be beneficial for Mauritius and Sri Lanka," Modi declared. According to the prime minister, India has undergone a dramatic transformation thanks to digital public infrastructure. Additionally, he emphasised India's emphasis on its "neighbourhood first policy." "India has been the first responder, and will continue to be so, whether it is a natural disaster, health-related issue, economic issue, or assistance on the international stage," the speaker declared.With New Delhi's bilateral commercial relations to Sri Lanka and Mauritius growing, Indian services were introduced in both nations.
