SRINAGAR, Mar 3: Altaf Bukhari, the president of the Apni Party, urged the government on Sunday to compensate those who have incurred major losses as a result of the recent heavy rains and strong windstorms that have affected several parts of Jammu and Kashmir. He underlined how urgent it was to send out official teams to thoroughly analyse the damage that had been done in the impacted areas. Over the past two days, strong winds and a lot of rain in several areas of Jammu & Kashmir have damaged property.Knowing that the recent bad weather has caused devastation in numerous regions of the valley and Jammu makes me very sorry. Woman, 3 daughters killed in house collapse after heavy rains in Reasi

REASI: In the Reasi area of Jammu and Kashmir, a woman and her three daughters, ages two to five, perished when their "kutcha" house fell, according to officials on Sunday. On March 1 and 2, moderate to heavy rains battered numerous areas of Jammu & Kashmir. Strong winds and hailstorms in several parts of the Jammu region also caused damage to dozens of structures, including residential houses. As a result of severe rains, Phalla Akhter (30) and her daughters Nasima (5), Safeena Kousar (3), and Samreen Kousar (2) lost their lives in the Reasi incident when their house fell in Kunderdhan Mohra village in Chassana tehsil. According to them, the event left two elderly family members injured: Kalu, 60, and his wife Bano Begum, 58, who were both rushed to the hospital. Rescuers said they had recovered the dead from the rubble.
