TOKYO, Jan 1: According to public broadcaster NHK, an earthquake struck north central Japan on Monday with a preliminary magnitude of 7.4. A tsunami warning was issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency along the coasts of the prefectures of Niigata, Toyama, and Ishikawa. According to NHK, Hokuriku Electric Power stated that it is examining any anomalies at its nuclear power facilities.
