NEW DELHI: On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans to expand the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras—which provide discounted medication—from 10,000 to 25,000. Modi engaged in video conference communication with the beneficiaries of the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.” According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is being conducted across the nation with the goal of achieving saturation of the government’s flagship schemes by ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a timely manner. Prime Minister Modi announced a plan to expand the nation’s Jan Aushadhi Kendra network from 10,000 to 25,000 locations during the function. Additionally, the prime minister dedicated the historic 10,000th Jan Aushadi Kendra at AIIMS, Deoghar, to the country. ‘Drone Didi Yojana’ was also introduced by him. During the years 2024–2026, the programme intends to supply drones to 15,000 specific women Self Help Groups so they can rent them out to farmers for agricultural purposes.
