UNA: In the Una district of Himachal Pradesh, pro-Khalistan slogans were discovered daubed on walls close to the Mata Chintpurni Temple on Wednesday. The police have reported that they have opened an investigation into the incident. Additionally, a video purportedly indicating Congress figures implicated in the 1984 Sikh riots will not be spared was posted online. The chief of the outlawed organisation Sikhs For Justice, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, was seen pointing out the graffiti on the walls. Una Arjit Sen Thakur, the superintendent of police, said that inquiries are under progress and the culprits will be apprehended shortly.According to him, the police are also examining the video. This is not the first time that the state has reported such an occurrence. Pro-Khalistan banners and graffiti were hung on the exterior of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly in Dharamshala on May 7 of last year. A case has been filed in this regard under sections 153-A and 153-B of the Indian Penal Code as well as section 3 of the HP Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 1985. Pannun was listed as a principal conspirator and co-accused in this case based on the video footage, and he was arrested under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
