AHMEDABAD: Following India’s humiliating six-wicket loss to Australia in the World Cup final, head coach Rahul Dravid declared he hasn’t given his future with the team any thought. In response, Dravid stated he hadn’t thought about his future because he was concentrated on the World Cup 2023 campaign when asked if he would stay on as coach until then. Following a rapid powerplay, the Australian bowling attack worked together to dismiss India for 240 runs. The most outstanding batsman was Travis Head, who led Australia to their sixth ICC Cricket World Cup victory with an amazing century.In a press conference after the match, Indian coach Rahul Dravid stated he has not given any thought to leaving his position as the team’s head coach. He maintained that the World Cup and the team’s pursuit of victory had captured all of his attention. “I haven’t given it any thought. Once more, I just finished a game. I don’t have time to consider this or to think back on it. Yes, I will do that when I have the opportunity. However, at this moment, I was entirely preoccupied with this campaign. All of my thoughts were on this World Cup, and nothing else.And I haven’t thought about the future at all,” Dravid stated at a press conference held after the game. Australia chose to bowl first before the game and dismissed India for 240 runs in 50 overs. Virat Kohli (54 in 63 balls, four boundaries), KL Rahul (66 in 107 balls, one four), and captain Rohit Sharma (47 in 31 balls, four boundaries and three sixes) all scored significant runs on a challenging batting surface. For Australia, Mitchell Starc (3/55) was the best bowler. Josh Hazlewood (2/60) and captain Pat Cummins (2/34) both bowled well. Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa each claimed a wicket.India got off to a great start in their chase of 241 and had the Australians down at 47/3. Travis Head (137 in 120 balls, 15 fours and 4 sixes) and Marnus Labuschagne (58 in 110 balls, 4 boundaries) both knocked the Indian side out of the game with a six-wicket victory. Australia won its sixth World Cup title as the prestigious tournament came to an end, and the Men in Blue will try to move past the heartbreaking loss when they play the newly crowned ODI WC champions in a five-match T20I series beginning on November 23.
