JAMMU, Sept 24: In order to determine the reason for the tragedy, authorities launched an inquest. A police party arrived on the scene quickly and moved the man’s body to a hospital for an autopsy. According to authorities, a 53-year-old Village Defence Guard (VDG) in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir allegedly shot himself to death with his rifle. Babu Ram took the action on Saturday while at home in the far-off Roun village of Dudu, according to the officials. According to the officials, a police party sped to the scene and moved the man’s body to a hospital for a postmortem. Police also claimed they had opened an investigation to find out why the man had taken such a drastic action.
