In Samba, Hunger strike ends on 9th day

SAMBA : The ninth day of the continuing hunger strike over the suspension of Sarore Toll Plaza has come to a conclusion. Deputy Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma and SSP Samba Benam Tosh broke the hunger strike late on Friday night by giving candy to all the protesters. The protesters Sugreev Singh Sambyal, Sarpanch Ravinder Singh Lavlu, Sandeep Sambyal, Mohan Singh Sambyal, Councillor Maheshwar Raj, and Arun Sambyal Happu were forced to break their fast by DC Samba and SSP Samba when they arrived at the main chowk of Samba late in the evening. When Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar visited with some of the leaders who were fasting in the major chowk in Samba, they received his assurance and broke their fast.Sugreev Singh, one of the demonstrators, reported that Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar met with us and gave us the assurance that the other Tarnah Bridge route would be available in the following five days. He said that the residents of Samba will no longer be required to pay tolls as frequently as before. Furthermore, it was stated that the Divisional Commissioner had promised that, with regard to Sarore Toll Plaza, a wise choice will be made in the people’s best interests within the next week.If no decision is made within the next week, “a strategy can be developed as to how to start the agitation anew,” he warned.
