DODA : Eight terrorists from the district who are now operating out of Pakistan and PoJK were charged on Friday by Doda Police under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) before the Fast Track NIA Court Doda. Cases under UAPA have been filed against the terrorists in a number of Doda district police stations for carrying out terror operations while residing in Pakistan and PoJK, which they did at the direction of their Pakistan-based instructors in order to maintain militancy and cause slaughter among the local populace.According to SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, a charge sheet was submitted against the terrorists under Section 299 CrPC in the Fast Track NIA Court Doda for judicial review after the inquiry was fully completed and sufficient evidence was gathered against them. In order to recruit local youngsters in Doda to join them in terrorism and engage in subversive acts to maintain militancy in the region, Qayoom claimed that terrorists operating out of Pakistan and PoJK were in frequent contact with them. In order to achieve the complete eradication of militancy in the district, he continued, Doda Police has taken extraordinary measures to tighten the noose around the sympathisers, supporters, and Over Ground Workers of the terrorists and other anti-social elements.The terrorists against whom a charge sheet has been presented in the Fast Track NIA Court Doda include Mohd Amin alias Khubaib son of Dawood Batt, resident of Kathwa Phagsoo, Mohd Hussain Khateeb son of Abdul Hai Khateeb resident of Masjid Mohalla Bhaderwah, Zakir Hussain son of Abdul Rashid from Draina Bhalla, Abdul Hai alias Tahir Bil.At various police stations throughout the district, cases were lodged against these terrorists for operating a terror module to maintain the militancy. The terrorists were affiliated with a number of groups, including Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Hizbul Mujahideen, and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The sources claimed that “all of them had exfiltrated to Pakistan and PoJK over time and are now operating there, masterminding terror activities in different areas of Jammu division, mainly Doda and Kishtwar districts where they are trying to revive militancy by inspiring local youth through their old contacts but have miserably failed.” They said that a maximum of 118 of these terrorists were from the Doda district, 96 from Ramban, and 36 from Kishtwar.
