MAINPURI (UP), August 29 : Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, the MoS for Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, stated today that India is prepared for the first Sun Mission, “Aditya-L1,” which ISRO is set to launch, most likely on September 2.In his remarks at a public event today, Dr. Jitendra Singh noted that as the entire world celebrated India’s Chandrayaan mission, interest in the Sun Mission has grown significantly as well.
The Minister said, fully praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that none of this would have been possible if the Prime Minister hadn’t made the brave, ground-breaking decision to free India’s space industry from historical restraints. No other government had taken the initiative to do this. He claimed that as a result, today, ISRO has more financial resources than it did four years ago, there are 150 StartUps instead of 4, and the credibility of India’s satellite launching facility has suddenly increased to the point where India has already made more than 260 million euros and 150 million dollars from the launch of American and European satellites, respectively.Dr. Jitendra Singh argued that the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has improved the status of the scientific community is the reason why we are now confident and convinced to launch the first-ever space mission to the Sun.
Dr. Jitendra Singh revealed that the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) with seven payloads (instruments on board) will be used for the Sun Space Mission Aditya-L1. A satellite positioned in a halo orbit will have the significant advantage of continuously watching the Sun without any eclipses, he noted. The spacecraft will be stationed at lagrange point-1(L1) of the Sun-Earth system, which is roughly 1.5 million kilometres from the Earth.Aditya L-1 is the third such expedition, according to Dr. Jitendra Singh, following the Mars and Moon missions. It will research solar energy sources.
