JAMMU: Ramesh Kumar, the Divisional Commissioner for Jammu, visited the Mulana Azad (M A) Stadium today to review and finalise preparations for the 2023 Independence Day festivities. Senior Officers from Jal Shakti, JMC, Health Services, Information, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports, Hospitality and Protocol, JKRTC, and other concerned departments were also present, along with Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa, Commissioner JMC, DIG Traffic, SSP Jammu, Director School Education Jammu, SSP Security Jammu, Chief Engineers of JPDCL, PWD, and Joint Director Hospitality and Protocol.The Deputy Commissioner first briefed the Div Com on the general preparations being made at the site to ensure a successful celebration of Independence Day. The arrangements made by the relevant departments were thoroughly considered by the Div Com. While making plans, he emphasized the importance of strong collaboration amongst the relevant departments. The respective departments were given instructions to make the necessary preparations well in advance. In addition to the distribution of invitation cards and the completion of cultural events, he took a thorough inventory of the security arrangements, traffic management, seating arrangements, decoration, power, water supply, sanitation, and Medicare.The involved officials were given instructions on how to carry out their jobs while adhering to the developed plans. According to the information provided, the festival would also feature gymnastics, colorful cultural performances, and contingents. The Divisional Commissioner urged the concerned authorities to make sure that all preparations are made well in advance of the national holiday to ensure a smooth and successful celebration. The Div Com also gave instructions to set up a waterproof tent at the location. For the convenience of the general public, the traffic department was instructed to create a traffic management strategy, determine parking locations, and promptly announce diversions. The Div Com toured the location and examined the arrangements in the meantime, along with other concerned officers.
