UDHAMPUR: Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar today conducted extensive tour of district Udhampur and took stock of works on major ongoing projects of the district including construction of new GMC here.During the tour, the Secretary was joined by the Deputy Commissioner, Chief Medical Officer, Joint Director Planning, H&ME, Director Coordination New Medical Colleges, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, and officers from the executing agencies. During the tour, Bhupinder Kumar stopped by the 200-bed district hospital’s construction sites, the GMC Udhampur temporary facility, the library, and other locations to get a firsthand assessment of all the ongoing projects there. He instructed the responsible executing agencies to deploy more labourers and work more shifts at the construction sites to speed up the pace of work on these projects and finish them on schedule.In order to ensure these projects’ timely and successful completion, the Secretary additionally gave the Principal of GMC Udhampur instructions to monitor their development and conduct frequent reviews. He also emphasised the need to make sure that the GMC temporary college building is finished by the deadline of August 15 in every way so that the college is prepared to accept the first batch of MBBS students in September. Later, the Secretary of Health also presided over a meeting with GMC Udhampur’s officers and faculty members and emphasised the importance of their providing services with the highest care, compassion, and professional integrity while placing the needs of patients first. He urged the medical community to use the most recent online initiatives of the Department of Health and Medical Education to improve public service delivery through a variety of programmes. Bhupinder Kumar also went to the Boys Hostel building’s construction site in the interim to check on the progress of the work. He gave the relevant personnel instructions to speed the construction of the residential accommodations with enough facilities so that the students are helped. Along with other officers from the executing agencies, the Secretary was accompanied by the Director of Coordination for New Medical Colleges, the Joint Director of Planning, H&ME, and the Chief Medical Officer.
