J&K unveils first-of-its-kind space lab in Kishtwar Govt school

KISHTWAR: An official spokesperson announced the opening of a space lab, the first of its type in Jammu and Kashmir, in a government school in the Kishtwar region, calling it a "historic moment" for the Union Territory. The ground-breaking space lab, created by Vyomika Space Academy as part of the ISRO space tutor initiative and supported by the Directorate of Education Jammu, marks a significant advancement in educational technology, the official said. According to him, the facility is furnished with cutting-edge telescopes, drones, aircraft, and models of ISRO rocket and satellite demonstrations. The official said in a statement today that "this will allow students to explore the wonders of the cosmos and notable space missions from ISRO." He said that the unveiling ceremony took place at the Government Higher Secondary School for Boys in Kishtwar with Devansh Yadav, the Deputy Commissioner, and Prehlad Bhagat, the Chief Education Officer, in attendance. The school's employees and students were present to witness this historic cosmic occurrence, the official stated. He claimed that Govind Yadav, the chief executive of Vyomika Space Academy, lectured the group on specifics regarding the lab's operation and its ability to motivate and advance students' knowledge of space, science, and technology. The Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner urged students to utilise this "remarkable space lab" to its fullest potential, stressing that doing so will not only promote a deeper understanding of space but also encourage pupils to think about pursuing jobs in the field. According to him, "this initiative is expected to spark interest in astronomy-related activities at the school level, possibly pointing students in the direction of careers in this fascinating field." The spokesman added that Vyomika Space Academy will host a state-level inter-school hydro rocket and astronomy workshop on October 15 in observance of the birth anniversary of former president A P J Abdul Kalam. Students from classes 6 through 12 will have the opportunity to receive skill development training sessions from these cutting-edge labs. Terrorists, 8 associates involved in cross-border arms smuggling arrested in Baramulla

SPO Found Dead In Poonch

Poonch/Jammu, Sep 26: According to preliminary investigations, a Special Police Officer (SPO) who was found dead in the Poonch region of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday likely died as a result of injuries sustained in a a road accident. SPO Khaliq Hussain's body was found in a field near the village of Kankote, some 10 feet below the main road, along with his motorbike, according to Station House Officer of Police Station, Poonch, Deepak Pathania. Hussain, who was assigned to the Poonch district police lines, had sustained brain injuries, according to him, and initial evidence points to a fatal car accident as the cause of his death. Oil tanker used in bovines smuggling seized with 16 cattle

RAJOURI:The vigilant police in Rajouri confiscated an oil tanker and freed 16 livestock from the hands of smugglers after exposing their method of illegally transporting cattle to the Kashmir valley via Mughal Road. According to official sources, a police team led by SHO Rajouri Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani laid a naka on the outskirts of the town on the orders of SSP Rajouri, Amritpal Singh, and during checking they intercepted a Bharat Petroleum Oil Tanker bearing registration No. HR38S - 5582 that was travelling from the Jammu side.The police squad became suspicious while checking. They began a thorough inspection of the oil ship and eventually discovered 16 cattle loaded cruelly and ruthlessly inside the tanker without having received valid DM licence.
