Railways announce more summer special trains to Vaishno Devi shrine

JAMMU: The Northern Railway administration have scheduled more summer special (limited-run) trains to deal with the increase in passenger traffic brought on by the summer season and pilgrims visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.These special trains would transport visitors to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra from Indore, Lohata (Varanasi), and New Delhi.The 09321/22 Indore-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Indore Weekly Summer Special train would run 18 times (nine each way) between July 5 and September 1. Every Wednesday starting on July 5 at 11.30 p.m., the train will leave from Indore and arrive in Mata Vaishno Devi (SVDK) at 12.20 a.m. on the third day. The train will depart SVDK every Friday (starting on July 7) at 3.50 a.m. and return to Indore at 7.30 a.m. The Indore-SVDK-Indore Weekly Summer Special train will stop in Udhampur, Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Delhi Safdarjang, Mathura, Bharatpur, Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Nagda, Ujjain, and Dewas. It has AC, sleeper, and general class coaches. From June 30 to July 19, another Summer Special Weekly train (04249/50) would run on the Lohata-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi segment, making a total of 10 journeys (five in each way). Every Friday starting on June 30 at 4.15pm, the train will depart from Lohata and arrive at SVDK at 7.15pm the following day. Every Saturday (starting on July 1) at 11.20 p.m., the train will leave from SVDK on its return trip, arriving in Lohata at 12.45 a.m. on the third day.The summer special train would stop commercially in Udhampur, Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Jagadhari-Yamunanagar, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Lucknow, Raebareli, and Partapgarh while offering AC, sleeper, and general class accommodations. The Railways would operate two pairs of summer special trains between the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and New Delhi/Delhi Jn. Two journeys in each direction will be made by the trains, for a total of four trips. The pair of 04095/96 between Delhi Jn and SVDK would run on July 4 and 5. The pair of 04087/88 New Delhi-SVDK-New Delhi Gati Shakti Summer Special trains would run on July 2 and 3, respectively, from New Delhi and SVDK.The train 04088 will leave SVDK on July 3 at 6.30pm and arrive in New Delhi at 6.50am, while the train 04087 will leave New Delhi on July 2 at 11.15pm and arrive at SVDK at 11.25am the following day. Similar to how the summer special train 04096 will leave SVDK on July 4 at 6.30pm and arrive at Delhi Jn at 6.50am the next morning, the summer special train 04095 will depart Delhi Jn on July 3 at 11.15pm and arrive at SVDK at 11.25am the following day.The 4087/88 pair, which consists of only AC coaches, and the 4095/96 pair, which consists of AC, sleeper, and general class coaches, will both stop at the following railway stations: Udhampur, Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, and Sonipat.
