One held with stolen property worth Rs 6 lakh

KISHTWAR: Police worked out the burglary case of a Hardware Store and recovered the stolen property amounting Rs. 6 lakh. SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom informed that on April 16, 2024, a written complaint was lodged by one Vikar Ahmed, son of Mohd Irfan, resident of Shahidi Mohalla, Kishtwar regarding theft in his Hardware Store on April 12/13 and 15/16. In this regard, an FIR with Number 103/2024 Under Section 457/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started. A team led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Firdous Ahmed assisted by PSI Anil Sharma under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs, Dr. Ishan Gupta after hectic efforts arrested the main accused in the crime Rahul Singh, son of Gopal Singh, resident of TRC Kishtwar. The arrested person disclosed that he had sold all the stolen property to Naseer Elahi, son of Chandi Sheikh, resident of Cherhar; Mohd Hussain, son of Mohd Akbar, resident of Malipeth, Kishtwar; Javed Iqbal Sheikh, son of Ghulam Haider Sheikh, resident of Malipeth, Kishtwar and Sheikh Aqib Ishtiaq, son of Sheikh Ishtiaq Ahmed, resident of Hudri, Kishtwar. These persons were called at Police Station where they disclosed that they had purchased the stolen items from the accused and kept them at their shops/residences. On their disclosure, cops with Magistrate visited the spot and recovered all the stolen items like electric motors, water tanks geysers, motorized cutters, sinks, pipe rolls, paint, showers etc.
