Omar Abdullah : NC to attend next meeting of opposition leaders in Bengaluru

JAMMU: NC vice president Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said his party will attend the next meeting of the opposition leaders in Bengaluru.Farooq Abdullah, president of the National Conference, accepted the invitation to the Bengaluru meeting, which would take place on July 17–18, and made the decision to go. It has not yet been established who will represent the party in the meeting, Abdullah informed reporters. He referred to the opposition party leaders’ meeting that took place in Patna on June 23 and stated that its purpose was to develop a plan to compete with the BJP nationally during the parliamentary elections of the next year.In advance of the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir, Abdullah declined to comment on the likelihood of cooperation among opposition leaders. “Leave it up to us to decide how the approach will be implemented at the state level. We’ll monitor how things change and determine what needs to be done. You want us to make our approach public before the election horn is sounded (for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections), he remarked. The NC leader declared that they would play their cards close to their vest and only reveal them when the moment was right.
