Srinagar, Nov 30: In light of the recent protests at several educational institutions, a senior police officer examined the state of law and order in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. “To evaluate the current scenario, the police, CAPF, and intelligence wings in PCR Kashmir met today under the chairmanship of ADGP Law and Order, J&K, Vijay Kumar. A police spokesperson in Srinagar stated, “The officers briefed the ADGP about the timeline of events (that) happened during (the) past couple of days vis-à-vis handling of these issues as per the merits and law by the J&K Police.”According to the spokesman, Kumar commended society for its maturity and law enforcement for their “timely action.” He urged the police to seize complete control of the situation and to prevent malicious plans from taking advantage of it. The ADGP has emphasised to all law enforcement authorities that in order to properly uphold the integrity of law, they must find the actual miscreants who have been spreading misinformation and take necessary preventive legal action. Kumar further requested that the intelligence services maintain a “hawk’s eye” on the circumstance.
