Srinagar, Sep 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have stepped up their efforts to stop the exploitation of social media sites for activities that are hostile to India and other nations. Police department sources have verified that they are tracing the IP addresses of anyone who engage in such actions.The Jammu and Kashmir Police have obtained direct collaboration from social media juggernauts like WhatsApp, X (formerly known as Twitter), Snapchat, Instagram, Telegram, and TiTok, among others, which distinguishes this project. According to news agency, this agreement has given the government access to information about those who use these platforms to foment anti-national sentiment.Recently, the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Cyber Investigation Kashmir (CIK) division arrested a person from Srinagar, demonstrating the effectiveness of this relationship. According to the report, this person was discovered to be running a false Instagram account and posting offensive comments.In addition, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other pertinent organisations have infiltrated numerous WhatsApp and Telegram groups, where they regularly monitor activity. Insiders have revealed to Kashmir Dot Com, a journalistic organisation based in Srinagar, that a significant amount of priceless intelligence has been obtained through these operations.Even kids who participate in different Telegram groups, according to an official, are being watched. In order to prevent their wards from unintentionally taking part in anti-national actions, the officer emphasised the necessity of parents’ vigilant oversight of their kids’ internet activity.
