JKLF-Hurriyat revival conspiracy case: 10 ex-terrorists of JKLF & erstwhile separatists arrested: Police

RINAGAR: J&K Police on Monday said that In a significant development, it have formally arrested ten persons in connection with a conspiracy to revive the banned organizations JKLF and Hurriyat. Following an ongoing investigation into the matter, the arrests were made. According to a handout provided by the police, FIR No. 23/2023 has been filed at the Kothibagh Police Station in this case under Sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act as well as Section 121A of the Indian Penal Code.According to the police spokesman, initial investigations suggest that the arrested individuals and other suspects were reportedly involved in efforts to resurrect these organisations under the control of handlers headquartered in Pakistan. The meeting where these objectives were presented was a clear attempt to begin the process of working to revive these dormant organisation. According to a police spokesman, preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested people had contacts with international organisations.A number of them apparently had ties to various secessionist organisations, including the Kashmir Global Council run by Raja Muzaffer of the JKLF and Farooq Siddiqui. Investigations have also shown that a preliminary meeting, which was attended by the majority of the people detained, occurred on June 13, 2023. The specifics of that encounter are currently being examined for any new information on the plot. The individuals who were arrested have been identified as Mohammad Yaseen Bhat, a Nigeenbagh resident and the son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Mohammad Rafiq Pahloo, a Natipora resident and the son of Ghulam Hassan, Shams-u-din Rehmani, a Lalbazar resident and the son of Amir Ahmad, Jahangeer Ahmad Bhat, and Sopore. Shabir Ah Dar, a native of Badamwari, Sopore, and Khurshid Ah Bhat, a resident of Rawalpora and the son of Ghulam Nabi, Sajad Hussain Gul, a resident of Panthachowk; Firdous Ah Shah, a resident of Abiguzar; Parray Hassan Firdous, a resident of Lawaypora; and Sohail Ahmad Mir, a resident of Peerbagh, Budgam, are all descendants of Abdul Rashid.
