Army Troops Open Fire At Suspected Pak Drone Along LoC In Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 5: According to police officials, army troops fired a few bullets at a suspected Pakistani drone Tuesday night along the Line of Control in the Akhnoor district of this city. Following the incident in the forward Battal area, the Army and police launched a large combined search effort, they stated. According to the officials, alert troops saw a possible drone moving at 630 p.m. and fired a few shots to bring it down. They added that the Army and police had immediately begun a large operation to investigate the region for the drone or its payload, which included weapons, drugs, and money. They stated that because of the darkness, it was unknown if the drone went back or fell. SRINAGAR: Tuesday afternoon saw an accident involving a taxi carrying tourists at Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Leh route, resulting in the deaths of at least four of them. NIA Raids 8 Places In J&K In Terror Funding Case

New Delhi, Dec 5: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted raids at eight locations in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a terror funding case. According to people with knowledge of the situation, the raids are still in progress at seven locations in Kashmir and one in Jammu, closely coordinating with the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. These raids, among other places, are being carried out by the agency sleuths in Shopian and Baramulla. The residences and additional hiding places of the suspects connected to the investigation were among the locations searched.The operations took place a few days after the central agency detained an accused in a terrorist case supported by Pakistan that involved drone deliveries of weaponry to militants operating in Kashmir. The information was provided by the agency on November 29. On November 27, a team from the NIA Jammu Branch apprehended Zakir Hussain, a 22-year-old resident of the Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir. He was one of the eight suspects who were taken into custody in the case that the NIA took over from the Kathua Police on July 30 of last year. Two terror operatives located in Pakistan are running away, and one of the seven accused who had been caught earlier passed away from a cardiac collapse while in judicial custody.The NIA is still looking into the case in an effort to piece together the larger plot of terrorist organisations supported by Pakistan to commit acts of terror and carnage in the Kashmir Valley and throughout India. SRINAGAR: With the exception of Kokernag, the mercury resumed its downward trend in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday and settled below freezing point throughout the Valley. According to a meteorological temperature department official, Srinagar recorded a low of - 1.4°C, which was 0.5°C below typical for this time of year, compared to 0.7°C the night before. According to him, Qazigund recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.6°C as opposed to minus 0.4°C the night before. According to the official, the minimum temperature in Kashmir's gateway town was 0.5°C lower than usual. Pahalgam reported a low of minus 4.3°C, which was 1.0°C below typical for the well-known south Kashmir resort, compared to minus 3.4°C the night before.According to the official, Kokernag, which is located in south Kashmir, saw a minimum temperature of 0.2°C as opposed to 0.8°C the night before. The temperature was also 0.8°C higher than usual for the area. According to the official, Kupwara town in north Kashmir saw a low of minus 1.4°C, down from minus 2.5°C the night before. This was 0.3°C below average. According to the official, Gulmarg saw a low of minus 2.3°C, down from minus 3.0°C the night before, and the most recent temperature was 1.0°C higher than usual for the well-known skiing destination in north Kashmir. According to him, Jammu's minimum temperature was 9.9°C, which was higher than the previous night's 11.0°C and 0.1°C above average for J&K's winter capital. He stated that partly overcast weather is predicted through December 7. He stated that partly to mainly cloudy weather is anticipated from December 8–10.
