Parliament security breach: Police recover burnt phone parts of accused in Rajasthan

NEW DELHI: According to police sources on Sunday, the accused's phone components from the incident involving the breach of Parliament's security have been found in Rajasthan. Every phone component was discovered burned. However, Lalit Jha's phone has not yet been found by Delhi police. Prior to his arrival in Delhi, Lalit Jha, the accused in the security breach incident at Parliament, destroyed five cell phones, according to sources close to the Delhi police. He also lied to the investigating team. In anticipation of their arrest, the four accused gave Jha their phones prior to the security breach in order to keep important investigation details from getting to the police. "Lalit Jha destroyed not four but five mobile phones after fleeing to Rajasthan's Kuchaman," according to police sources.Mahesh Kumawat, the sixth accused in the case of the Parliament security breach, was earlier given seven days of custody by the Patiala House Court in this city to the Police. Mahesh Kumawat was placed under custodial remand for fifteen days by Delhi Police. In the case, he is the sixth accused person detained. Lalit Jha and the other five accused have already been placed under police custody. Lalit Jha, the defendant in the case of the Parliament security breach, was given seven days of custody by the Patiala House Court on Friday. The December 13 anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack coincided with the security breech.During Zero Hour, two individuals, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, leaped from the public gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, unleashed yellow gas from canisters and yelled anti-establishment slogans before being overpowered by the MPs. Neelam (42) and Amol (25) demonstrated outside the Parliament in a different incident, carrying identical petrol canisters. On Thursday, though, the Delhi Police Special Cell placed all four in their custody for a period of seven days.
