CAIT advises traders to switch from Paytm to other payment apps in light of RBI action

NEW DELHI: Following RBI restrictions on Paytm wallet and bank operations, merchants' association CAIT on Sunday cautioned traders to move from Paytm to other payment options for business-related transactions. Because of the Reserve Bank of India's recent restrictions, CAIT advises customers to take preventative action to safeguard their money and guarantee smooth financial transactions. District Magistrate Jammu orders nullification of land mutation

JAMMU: District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya has issued an order nullifying a land modification with number 42, dated October 3, 2005, on the grounds that it is unsustainable legally. The applicants Sukhdev Singh, Romesh Singh, and Subash Singh submitted a representation claiming possession of a 48 Kanal 07 Marla plot of land in the village of Paragpura, Tehsil Akhnoor, which led to the order. The petitioners claimed there were inconsistencies in the land records, claiming that even though they had owned the land since March 7, 2002, the documents continued to list the State as the owner and possessor. According to a thorough report by Tehsildar Pargwal that included pertinent revenue documents, the petitioners did, in fact, buy the designated land in 2002.Contrary to the Land Revenue Act, inconsistencies were found in the issuing of the Fard, dated February 11, 2002, which was based on the 1966–67 Jamabandi rather than the most recent one available in 1995–96. After more research, it was discovered that 34 Kanal 06 Marlas of the bought land had been escheated to the State by Mutation No. 24 in accordance with the Agrarian Reform Act of 1976. The District Magistrate called attention to two major infractions: "The illegal issuance of the Fard by revenue officials, violating provisions of the Land Revenue Act" and "The escheatment of the purchased land to the State." Consequently, the District Magistrate issued an order to revoke Mutation No. 42, which was issued on October 3, 2005, with regard to the part that was escheated to the State. Tehsildar Pargwal was instructed to swiftly enter the order into revenue records and provide a report on the actions performed within a two-day period. In addition, the delinquent officials accountable for the unauthorised Fard issuance must be identified in order to take the necessary follow-up measures. WASHINGTON: The US Congress was informed today by the Biden Administration of its intention to sell weapons valued at around $4 billion, primarily Hellfire missile-equipped MQ 9 B drones. In a press release on Thursday, the US Department of Defence agency Defence Security Cooperation Agency stated that the sale contributes to the strategic relationship between the US and India being strengthened. "An important force for political stability, peace, and economic progress in the Indo-Pacific and South Asia region," it continued, is New Delhi. "The US State Department has decided to approve a potential $3.99 billion foreign military sale of MQ-9B remotely piloted aircraft and associated equipment to the Government of India.In a statement, the Defence Security Cooperation Agency stated that it had "delivered the necessary certification informing Congress of this potential sale today." 31 MQ-9B Sky Guardian aircraft, 161 Embedded Global Positioning and Inertial Navigation Systems (EGIs), 35 L3 Rio Grande Communications Intelligence Sensor Suites, 170 AGM-114R Hellfire missiles, 16 M36E9 Hellfire Captive Air Training Missiles (CATM), 310 GBU-39B/B Laser Small Diameter Bombs (LSDB), and eight GBU-39B/B LSDB Guided Test Vehicles (GTVs) with live fuzes are among the items that the Indian government has requested to purchase. By bolstering the strategic relationship between the US and India and enhancing the security of a "major defence partner," which is still a "important force for political stability, peace, and economic progress in the Indo-Pacific and South Asia region," the proposed sale will support US foreign policy and national security objectives, according to the release. Additionally, it stated that India has shown a commitment to modernising its military and will have no trouble integrating these goods and services into its armed forces. JAMMU: The Jammu electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has disconnected 1702 defaulters in a campaign against "illegal" electricity connections and past-due payments, earning a substantial sum of money in just two days, according to officials today. "In the first place, connections of 1702 consumers including influential consumers (Industries, Hotels and Influential persons) were disconnected to sensitise the masses to clear their liabilities on account of electricity bills and develop habits of paying electricity bills in time," it stated. The JPDCL Spokesperson said, "A total of 49,028 inspections."All customers have been advised by JPDCL to pay their outstanding balances right now in order to prevent being disconnected.During the crackdown, which was a component of JPDCL's continuous efforts to stop energy theft and deal with financial irregularities, the inspection procedure was strengthened and included both day and night patrols to look for power theft. Spokesman for JPDCL emphasised that the initiative's goal was to tighten the noose around customers who frequently connect up, violate agreed-upon loads, and bypass metres. The JPDCL reaffirmed in a formal statement its dedication to helping legitimate customers and making sure they are not burdened by the misdeeds of bad people. The electricity distribution company emphasised even further how actions like energy theft must be taken seriously. These actions not only cause blackouts but also damage to transformers, which inconveniences law-abiding customers. JPDCL's two-day operation yielded significant revenue, including pending arrear dues on Tuesday alone.
