Jammu, Sep 16: Devender Singh Rana, a senior member of the BJP, claimed on Saturday that the terrorism supported by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir is nearing its end and attacked valley-based politicians who support dialogue with the neighbouring nation. Former lawmaker Rana claimed that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are now more aware of the benefits of peace than ever before.On Wednesday, Saif-ud-din Soz, the leader of the Congress, and Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference, said that dialogue between India and Pakistan is necessary in order to put an end to the violence in the valley and find a lasting solution to all conflicts. The two leaders spoke following recent engagements in Rajouri and Anantnag in south Kashmir that resulted in the deaths of five security personnel, including an army colonel, a major, and a deputy superintendent of police.Those attempting to carve out an uninvited role for themselves, for whatever reason, by crossing the line should understand that India cannot engage itself with a country that sprouts terrorism, Rana said in a statement here. "The Centre has, time and again, made its policy of terror and talks not going together very clear. He expressed amazement and grief with unwarranted outbursts of engaging Islamabad in dialogue even before the last rites of the bravehearts were held, questioning the sensibilities of the "self-proclaimed votaries" of India-Pakistan talks and their sense of balance. "The insensitive terror ecosystem should learn a lesson from the ordinary Kashmiri citizen who took to the streets and joined the candle march to pay their respects to brave martyrs, who offered the ultimate sacrifice to maintain the prevailing momentum of normalcy in the valley," Rana added. The outrage at the most recent terrorist attacks, he claimed, is a silent warning to the "rejected and frustrated political elite who seize such opportunities to play dirty politics in the mistaken belief of remaining relevant to politics," as it is elsewhere in the nation.He claimed that they overlook the fact that Kashmir has changed and now stands for peace. This impulse has grown stronger over the past four years as a result of the region experiencing close to normalcy, which has sparked brisk economic activity and a brisk inflow of tourists. "The masses are up in arms against the worship of violence and disruption because the questionable role of the terror ecosystem to conduct politics over the corpses and the miseries of common people has now become outmoded.The benefits of peace are being felt by the people of Jammu and Kashmir more than ever, he claimed. Despite the occasional terror attacks, Rana emphasised that Pakistan-based terrorism is in its final stages on Indian territory in Kashmir as a result of targeted operations and campaigns by the security forces, the police, and the general public in particular, who have recently gone through a particularly traumatic period. This has been the case for more than three decades."A few people may try to excuse or minimise the barbarism unleashed by terrorists in terms of the death and destruction caused, and continually being perpetrated, by the Pakistani lackeys," he said. He claimed that since they are doomed to fail and would meet their end, terrorists supported by Pakistan cannot demand peace. In a tribute to the security people who had died, he added, "In the guns they keep brandishing lies their ultimate end."
