India asks Canada to withdraw over 40 diplomatic staff: Report

NEW DELHI: Approximately 40 Canadian diplomats have been requested to be recalled by India, according to a Financial Times story. According to individuals with direct knowledge of the situation, New Delhi has set a deadline of October 10 for the return. India had previously requested that Canada's 62 ambassadors there be cut by 41, according to the publication. When ties between the two nations reached an all-time low as a result of Ottawa's accusations against New Delhi over the execution of a Khalistani separatist on Canadian soil, India had earlier requested that Canada reduce its diplomatic representation there. Arindam Bagchi, a spokesman for the ministry of external affairs, claimed that the size of Canada's diplomatic staff in India was more than that of New Delhi's staff in Canada and that there should be parity in both strength and rank in the two countries' presences. Relationships between India and Canada have reached an all-time low as a result of Canadian suspicions that operatives of the Indian government were involved in the killing of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada in June. 3 soldiers injured, 2-3 militants trapped in Kalakote forests

RAJOURI, Oct 2: In a clash with two to three militants tonight at the Broh forests in the Kalakote tehsil of this border district, three Army soldiers were hurt. While search operations were being conducted in Broh by the Army, police, and paramilitary forces this afternoon, a contact with the militants was made tonight, resulting in a significant exchange of gunfire. In the firing, three Army men were hurt and were taken to the hospital.Tonight, extra troops were dispatched to the area to make sure the extremists don't manage to flee. The militants looked to be a part of two to three distinct organisations that operate in Rajouri and Poonch, the two bordering districts. The government declared that the Broh woodland region had been roped off and well guarded.According to the information, the militants are foreigners who are armed with high-tech weapons and explosive devices. An inquiry into how the militants got to the Broh woodlands in the Kalakote tehsil will take place after the incident. Prior to this, security authorities killed two foreign jihadists in Narla in Rajouri's rural Taryath neighbourhood. Seven members of minorities were murdered by two foreign extremists at the start of the year in the Rajouri district's Dhangri area. On April 20, five troops were killed in an attack on an Army vehicle in Bhatta Durrian in the Mendhar neighbourhood of Poonch district. On May 5, a few days later, five more jawans gave their lives in a shootout with terrorists in the Kandi woods of Rajouri. However, a number of foreign terrorists were killed in a series of encounters that occurred at Surankote, Darhal, Narla, Dhakikote, etc. in Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi districts after these killings. Encounter breaks out between terrorists & security officials in Rajouri

RAJOURI: Terrorists and security personnel engaged in combat late on Monday night during a search operation in the Kalakote forest area of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, according to officials. Following information of suspicious movement, the Army and police closed off the Broh and Soom woodland belt in the Kalakote area early on Monday, according to them. Late in the evening, when the terrorists trying to break the perimeter began fire on the forces, the search operation evolved into an encounter, according to the officials. Security troops retaliated, and a gunfight broke out between the two sides. The officials stated that there was no immediate word of any casualties. To close off any potential escape routes, they claimed that reinforcements had been hurriedly sent to the area. Gunshots were heard earlier in the day during the cordon and search operation, but it was later made clear that the security personnel had fired the probing shots to look for any potential terrorists. Suspected ISIS terrorist Shanawaz detained by Delhi Police

Close associate of 26/11 mastermind Hafiz gunned down in Karachi

OCT 01, 2023 : Mufti Qaiser Farooq, a close friend of Hafiz Saeed of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was assassinated by unidentified gunmen in Karachi, Pakistan. It is believed that Hafiz Saeed was the mastermind of the 26/11 strikes in India. Another preacher with ties to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Maulana Ziaur Rahman, died earlier this month after being shot dead by two motorcycle-riding gunmen while going for a usual evening stroll in Karachi. According to sources, Pakistani agencies are working hard to portray Ziaur Rahman and Mufti Qaiser as pious leaders with no ties to Hafiz Saeed and the LeT. Previously, the head of the Khalistan Commando Force, Paramjit Singh Panjwar, who was also connected to the ISI, was also slain.In February, Bashir Peer, the launch commander of Hizbul Mujahideen and a personal friend of Syed Salahuddin, was assassinated in Rawalpindi by unidentified gunmen close to the ISI offices and the military garrison. He was wounded by a close-range shot and died immediately. Investigators are also looking into the possibility that gang rivalry was a factor in the assassination. Rahman's murder comes after a string of assaults in Karachi on religious leaders who were all connected to terrorist organisations via the ISI and actively involved in radicalising and directing youths towards India. Azad dispels ‘rumours’ about being next LG of JK

We live in a poor state, and unemployment is rising. Jobs are nonexistent. Although government vacancies are advertised, no interviews are conducted. The parents of educated kids have spent all of their savings on their education, and the youth themselves have no jobs. According to the previous chief minister, tourism has the capacity to generate income for all facets of society. J&K Govt suspends 2 police officers

JAMMU: The government of Jammu and Kashmir suspended two police officials on Sunday. Gowhar Ahmad Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police for Budgam, is suspended with immediate effect in accordance with Rule 31(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, pending an investigation into his behaviour, according to a home department order.According to the order from the Home Department, Adil Mushtaq, Deputy Superintendent of Police, PID No. KPS 155772, shall be deemed to have been placed under suspension with effect from 21.09.2023, or the date of the Officer's arrest in case FIR No. 149/2023 under sections 7, 7A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and section 167, 193, 201, 210, 218, 221 of the IPC in P. The order also states that the officer must continue to be employed by Kashmir's Zonal Police headquarters during the suspension.
