VISAKHAPATNAM: Two trains crashed on the Howrah-Chennai line in the Vizianagaram region of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday evening, resulting in at least 13 fatalities and over 50 injuries, according to authorities. J&K border residents take to cleaning bunkers in wake of Pakistan shelling

JAMMU: Residents along the international border have started digging out subterranean bunkers that have been built over the years as a place to take refuge, following days after Pakistani Rangers breached the truce by attacking forward posts and communities along the border. The residents are calling for more of these buildings to be built so they may escape the cross-border shelling, and a big cleaning operation is in progress to make the bunkers livable. SRINAGAR: The Union Ministry of Education (MoE) has approved the installation of sanitary pad vending and incineration machines in over 1000 government schools in Jammu and Kashmir, in response to growing concerns about the high school dropout rate among females due to menstrual hygiene difficulties. According to officials, the officially supported Samargra Shiksha programme would construct and commission the sanitary pad selling machines and incinerators in 1,025 government schools throughout the Union Territory (UT). Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 29:An improvised explosive device (IED) was the cause of the explosion at a convention centre in Kerala on Sunday that left one person dead and 36 injured, according to state DGP Shaik Darvesh Saheb. Reporters were informed by the State Police Chief that an IED was the cause of the explosion based on the results of an initial investigation. "We're looking into it," he stated. According to the DGP, "there was an explosion this morning at approximately 9:40 am in the Zamrah International Convention Centre in Kalamassery in which one person died and 36 people are undergoing treatment."There were differing accounts regarding the quantity of explosions, though. JAMMU:A cricket player from Jammu and Kashmir was banned on Saturday by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), purportedly for submitting multiple birth certificates. In a press release released on Saturday, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) said that Bishnah, Jammu resident and cricketer Vanshaj Sharma has been banned by the BCCI for submitting several birth certificates with different dates of birth. According to a release from Brig Anil Gupta Member Administration JKCA, "For this act, he has been banned from participating in all BCCI tournaments for a period of two years from October 27." 1 Dead, Over 20 Injured In Blast At Convention Centre In Kerala
