Anchor /// 12 sector RR under the ageis of Chinar Corps in collaboration with District Administration Shopian organised a day long musical festival at Batpora Stadium Shopian in which hundreds of locals participated.
The musical festival which is named as Jashn-e-Chillai Kalan has witnessed a huge gathering in the past also, this is an event which is celebrated every year to welcome Chillai Kalan( 40 days of harsh winter) which commences from 21st of December.
The variety of musical songs and cultural events attracted people who thoroughly enjoyed them amid chill breeze at Batpora Stadium Shopian.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Shopian Fazlul Haseeb and Senior Superintendent of Police Tanushree IPS who were the chief guest on the occasion.
People in large numbers joined the show with great spirit and enthusiasm . The singers presented cultural and folk songs of Kashmir valley.
The achievers in various fields of education, sports, women empowerment, youth empowerment and social activism were felicitated by the DC which motivated the awaam.
One of the participants was found saying that he really enjoyed coming to the event also the songs and other presentation were mesmerizing which will remain in his heart for times to come. He also applauded the Indian Army for seamlessly organising the event.
