KATRA: In a proactive move to ensure the highest standards of security and safety for pilgrims, Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, conducted a comprehensive on-foot security assessment of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra Track and the Bhawan area.
Accompanied by SP Katra Kameshwar Puri, JKPS, SDPO Katra, SDPO Bhawan, SHO Katra, SHO Bhawan, and officials from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Police Security Wing, Mukund Tibrewal personally reviewed the security arrangements along the pilgrimage route.
During the visit, the SSP inspected various ingress points and assessed the effectiveness of pilgrim screening and frisking procedures, besides reviewing the operational readiness of baggage scanning systems. He also evaluated the deployment and alertness of security personnel stationed at key locations along the yatra track.
Mukund Tibrewal visited the Sanjichhat area and conducted a security audit of the helipad and its surrounding perimeter to ensure the safety and security of helicopter operations serving pilgrims.
The SSP also inspected the accommodation facilities of security personnel deployed at the Bhawan and along the yatra route. He interacted with the jawans and reviewed their living conditions and welfare arrangements.
Emphasising the importance of heightened alertness during the ongoing summer vacation season, Mukund Tibrewal directed all deployed personnel to maintain the highest level of vigilance in view of the increased influx of pilgrims.
He further stressed the need for regular and effective patrolling along the yatra route, particularly during odd hours, to maintain a strong deterrent against any nefarious designs of anti-national elements.
Mukund Tibrewal underscored the importance of constant vigilance, seamless coordination among all stakeholders, and regular security audits to effectively address emerging challenges and ensure a secure environment for the millions of devotees visiting the Holy Shrine every year.
The security review forms part of the ongoing efforts by the district police and allied agencies to strengthen safety measures and provide a smooth and secure pilgrimage experience for devotees undertaking the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra.
