Jammu, May 29 : Officials said on Monday that security forces carried out a search operation in a village in J&K’s Poonch district following a tip-off about the movement of some suspicious persons.According to the police, a Purani villager saw at least three suspicious people moving around in the early morning hours and reported it.
The police, with help from the Army and the CRPF, drew up a perimeter and searched every home right away, but no suspicious individuals were discovered, according to the officials.
Locals stated that this was the second occasion in a fortnight that a villager had noticed suspicious people moving around during the night.In addition, they wanted the establishment of a permanent security station in the village.
Following three separate terror incidents in which 10 soldiers and 7 civilians have died since January, security personnel are on heightened alert in the adjoining districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
