NEW DELHI: Police said on Monday a 16-year-old girl succumbed to injuries after being allegedly stabbed multiple times by her alleged boyfriend here in New Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area, adding that the accused is on the run. According to the authorities, the deceased’s body was discovered in a street. Police said that the deceased, a child, and the accused, 20-year-old Sahil, were dating before an argument broke out between them on May 28. It was discovered during the police’s initial investigation that she was going down the street when a boy suddenly ran up to her. She was killed by the accused after being repeatedly stabbed and struck with a stone, according to the police. Ravi Kumar Singh, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the outer North, stated that the woman had been walking down the street when a child abruptly stopped her. He repeatedly stabbed her. Police claimed to have learned of a girl’s murder on May 28. They added that a local team had arrived at the scene and was conducting an investigation. Police discovered during the local investigation that although the accused and the deceased were in a relationship, they had a fight yesterday. The dead was scheduled to attend her friend’s son’s birthday celebration today, according to the police.The official said that the accused is evading capture and that searches are being conducted to find him. According to authorities, a case has been opened at the Shahbad Dairy police station in accordance with Indian Penal Code section (IPC) 302 (Whoever commits murder should be punished with death).
