Secretary Health & Medical Education makes surprise inspection at SMGS Hospital

JAMMU: Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary of Health and Medical Educationsurprised Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital today to evaluate the medical services offered there. Dr. Abid Rasheed thoroughly inspected each department while being accompanied by the principal of GMC Jammu Associated Hospitals, Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Medical Superintendent of SMGS Hospital, Dr. Dara Singh, EXEN, Heads of Departments, Senior Professors, Physicians, Paramedics, and other stakeholders. The ENT Head Neck Surgery wards, NICU, Triage, Ayushman Bharat Facilitation Centre, ICU of Gynaecology Obstetrics, and MICU were all under the Secretary’s observation.Dr. Rasheed sought insightful input on the calibre of hospital services and facilities from patientstheir attendants, physicians, and paramedics during his tour. Speaking to the medical professionals, he stressed how critical it was to address any concerns brought up by the personnel as soon as possible. The Secretary gave assurances that the administration is dedicated to addressing issues raised and views the health sector as primary priority. Dr. Abid Rasheed examined the new block building as well, evaluating important infrastructural elements including the laundry, oxygen plant and parking area. He gave immediate orders to prioritise tasks related to mechanical and civil engineering.He was upbeat about the hospital’s expansion and noted its potential to develop into cutting-edge facility. After inspecting 240-bed maternity facility, Dr. Rasheed promised to improve maternity care services for the people of Jammu division and gave executive agencies deadline to finish any outstanding work. The Secretary also restated the administration’s pledge to provide the people of Jammu and Kashmir with the greatest medical care and amenities available. He said that the department is still working nonstop to achieve this objective and strive for excellence in healthcare delivery.
