SC Appointed SIT On Black Money To Submit 8th Interim Report Soon

NEW DELHI, Nov 29: Vice-chairman Justice (Retired) Arijit Pasayat of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Black Money, which was established by the Supreme Court, announced yesterday that the group will shortly provide its eighth interim report to the highest court. In its first cabinet meeting following its election in May 2014, the Narendra Modi administration authorised the Supreme Court’s directive to appoint the SIT. The Supreme Court has received seven interim reports from the SIT in the past nine years. On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Justice Pasayat hosted meeting at his home with representatives from the federal and state administrations regarding the identification and suppression of the nation’s production of black money.“For more than two hours, officials from the Central Board of Indirect Tax, Income Tax, Enforcement Directorate, Customs and Excise, and Enforcement Directorate met and deliberated on strategies to identify and impede the creation of illicit funds both domestically and internationally,” Justice Pasayat informed the media.
