Rajnath Singh Approves Waiver For Ex-Gratia To BRO/GREF Casual Paid Labourers

NEW DELHI, Feb 7: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh has approved proposal to remove the requirement that Casual Paid Labourers (CPLs) employed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) or the General Engineering Reserve Force (GREF) complete 179 working days at the time of the accident in order to get an ex-gratia lump sum payment. Current guidelines state that CPLs who have worked in BRO for at least 179 days are only eligible to receive an ex-gratia lump sum payout. The 179 working day restriction prevents the reward from being awarded to number of families of CPLs who have passed away.
