New Delhi, Jan 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been sleeping on a blanket on the floor and consuming only coconut water for the past eleven days as part of his unique religious practise in the lead-up to the Ram temple’s “Pran Pratishtha,” according to sources on Friday. They further mentioned that Modi has been performing “gau-pooja,” feeding cows, and participating in other “daan” (charity) activities including “annadaan” and distributing clothing in line with the scriptures. As a devoted “Ram Bhakt,” Modi has spent the past few days travelling to various temples across the nation, including the Guruvayur Temple and Thriprayar Shree Ramaswami Temple in Kerala, Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh, and Ramkund and Shree Kalaram Temple in Nasik.In a similar vein, he will spend the next two days touring more of these temples in Tamil Nadu. They pointed out that these temples have a connection to Lord Ram in addition to serving as a unifying force for the various regions of the nation. They stated that his recent visits to temples around the nation, when he heard the Ramayana read aloud in a variety of languages and took part in bhajans, are noteworthy because their influence extends well beyond the conventional definition of religion. They further stated that his efforts are directed towards bolstering the socio-cultural fabric of “bharatiya” in accordance with his concept of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.”In an attempt to set an example and ignite a widespread movement, he also started the drive to clean up temples and cleaned the grounds of the Shree Kalaram Temple in Nasik. The duty of cleaning the temples was willingly undertaken by lakhs of individuals. People from all walks of life in the nation have enthusiastically joined the campaign.
