KARGIL: According to officials, a mortar shell was successfully defused on Thursday in the Kargil district of the union territory of Ladakh. Locals in the Sharchay neighbourhood of the Batalik border zone reportedly discovered the unexploded shell and alerted security personnel. It was securely defused by the army’s sappers.
