MeT : Cloudy Weather With Intermittent Light Rain In J&K During Next 24 Hours

SRINAGAR, June 2 : MeT on Friday predicted weather in Jammu & Kashmir to remain generally cloudy with Intermittent light rain, thunder and lightning very likely at many places during the next 24 hours. According to the MeT office, Friday’s afternoon or late afternoon could bring a few scattered areas of moderate rains and gusty winds.
The weather will primarily be dry but a small period of shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out from June 5–10, according to the forecast, which also mentioned the potential of light rain or thunder at a few areas towards late afternoon for a brief duration on June 3–4.
The MeT office stated, “Overall, no forecast of any major rainfall until June 10.”
Additionally, it has encouraged farmers to conduct all farm tasks in the morning starting on June 5.
Over the past 24 hours, intermittent rains have lashed areas of Jammu and Kashmir, significantly lowering the temperature.Srinagar reported a low temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius, down from 11.4 degrees the day before, and 2.7 degrees Celsius below average for the summer in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Even though the maximum temperature rose, it was still 8.0 degrees Celsius below the average, which was 26.3 degrees Celsius on Friday.
The gateway to Kashmir, Qazigund, recorded a low of 10.0 degrees Celsius, down from 11.0 the day before, and 1.1 degrees Celsius below average.
Pahalgam’s overnight low was 3.2 degrees Celsius, down from 9.4 the previous night, and 3.4 degrees Celsius below average for the well-known tourist destination in south Kashmir.The picnic spot in south Kashmir, Kokernag, recorded a low of 9.9 degrees Celsius, compared to 9.8 degrees the day before, and it was 1.2 degrees Celsius below normal. Kupwara, the frontier district of Kashmir, recorded a low of 9.2 degrees Celsius, compared to 10.7 degrees the night before, and it was 1.8 degrees Celsius below normal.
According to the MeT office, Gulmarg reported a low temperature of 3.0 degrees Celsius, 4.6 degrees Celsius below normal from the previous day.
