SRINAGAR : On Friday, Met predicted widespread intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning with possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds during next 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Qazigund, the entrance town to Kashmir, reported a low of 7.0°C, down from 8.0°C the previous night and 3.7°C below average. He said that Pahalgam, a well-known tourist destination had a low temperature of 4.8°C, which was 1.3°C colder than average compared to the previous night’s low of 6.1°C. He said that the temperature in Kupwara town, which was 1.3°C below average for the north Kashmir region, settled at 9.3°C as opposed to 11.4°C the previous night. according to the officials, Kokernag had a low of 6.0°C compared to 7.4°C the night before, which was 4.6°C below average. In comparison to the previous night’s low of 5.0°C, Gulmarg’s low of 2.2°C was below average by 4.9°C for the renowned skiing destination in the Baramulla region of north Kashmir, he said. Jammu’s low temperature was 19.4°C, compared to 21.4°C the night before, and was 5.5°C below average for J&K’s winter capital, he said.. Katra 16.5°C (5.1°C below normal) ,Bhaderwah 8.5°C (below normal by 2.6°C),Banihal recorded a low of 8.5°C (below normal by 3.7°C) and Batote 11.5°C (3.5°C below normal),.
