Poonch : Security personnel detained a guy after discovering a pistol in his hands in Poonch district on Monday, according to police officials.
He was recognised as Mohd Shabir Anjum of the Mendhar tehil village of Bhatidhar.
Security officers from the CRPF and Special Operation Group (SOG) saw a suspicious figure moving around during a regular search of the Kunaiyan neighbourhood close to SK Bridge, they claimed.
Anjum tried to flee the area after being observed by security agents, but they overcame him, according to them.
He was found to have a weapon and three live bullets during the frisking, they claimed, adding that he was delivered to the Poonch police station.
